My 5 years old Minolta 5D start to have minor unstable.

Last night, I ordered this Full-Film camera A850, cost HK$13,800 (US$1769) at "Chung Yuen 中原電器" to replace the Minolta 5D. It would be available on Saturday this week.

The closest product on current market is Cannon EOS 5D Mark II, Which cost HK$18,300 (US$2346).

Even the Sony is not as good as 5D MII on the specification, it price only 2/3. Should be the best for Older-Minolta owner!!

I got the new Sony A850 Camera yesterday. First trial is impressive. Compare my existing Minolta 5D, simple comment is fast, bright, accurate, heavy, big and noisy!!

Minolta Marco (1:1) 100mm lens: -
It is my first test. It can auto-focus very close (around 1:2). Anyway, near the limit, I still need use manual focus. But that was much better than my Minolta 5D, 5xi and 7xi. The AF speed around 3-4 times faster than 5D.

Good quality of A-850 especially the night scene.

The Auto white-balance (AWB) is very smart and accurate. So, the night shot has a good color balance. All the above photos are AWB mode!!

I believe Sony going to release another full-frame model A750 soon. it would come with around 14M pixel and 720P movie ability.

Are the photos from RAW or Jpeg?
Is it taken by high ISO?

They all Jpeg.
I set Auto-ISO (100-800). So, they may all taken at ISO800.
